Our sheds are built using traditional construction methods, beginning with high quality framing. Studs are placed on 16-inch centers, unlike other builders who cut costs by using 24-inch stud spacing. Our framing lumber is high quality – straight boards with minimal barked edges and fewer knots than you’ll find with cheaper lumber grades. When discussing the best shed material, you’re looking at what makes up the exterior of the shed itself, as this will have to contend with the elements. The vast majority of quality sheds are either built out of vinyl or pressure-treated wood siding. We’re comparing the important details of both options: Learn more about the prices of our Amish sheds.Risk of Rot — When it comes to stopping mold and rot, vinyl is the best shed material and there’s no question about it. After all, your home is probably built from vinyl siding, and that’s no coincidence. However, as a naturally occurring material — even treated wood — can be damaged by rot and mold.Style — Both types of sheds look attractive and are effective at complementing different backyard decors. In general, prospective customers admire the look of vinyl sheds more and consider them to have a more decidedly upscale look. Of course, when it comes to color and style, personal taste is everything. See some of our favorite shed color combinations right here. Our Verdict — Like we mentioned above, both shed types can be great, which is why we sell both! However, for most potential customers, we say that vinyl is the best shed material as it boasts the convenience factor and a longer lifespan — even if the upfront price is a little higher.
Because of its size it is a little top heavy and needs to be supported by something, whether that’s the side of your house or a fence. Especially in windy conditions.
The floors in both the Tuff Sheds and the Heartland Sheds seem roughly equivalent to me. Heartland Sheds places their studs 24 inches apart in the models I looked at. Tuff Shed spaces their studs just 16 inches apart.
So, I was pretty much intent on buying a wood shed. But, just for good measure, I did check out metal sheds and plastic sheds, too: Unfortunately, metal sheds can rust — like my existing one did. And I didn’t want another rusty metal shed on my hands in a few years. I once owned a small plastic shed. It’s still standing after nearly 20 years (now in my sister and brother-in-law’s yard). It’s served both me and now my sister and her husband well — but they’re ready to replace it. The plastic shed’s paneling is beginning to warp, allowing water inside the shed.

As soon as the schools and parks closed for COVID, we started researching swing sets for the kids. After looking around at Amazon and Costco, we ended up going with RU for the quality and free install (they had a special going). We’ve had neighbors who bought from Amazon wish they had one a little bigger and nicer like the one we have. The installers were great. They took the time to put it exactly where I wanted it, confirming multiple times. They were really nice and professional, even during COVID.Overall, great experience. Oh, and we never even went to the showroom (again, COVID). We did it all over the phone which was very easy. The customer service team was very easy and pleasant to work with.

The main product lines comprised the Premier Series, Winchester, Woodbridge, Windsor and Esquire model sheds. All were of a similar type of construction and varied mainly in size and the type of accessories.
From a simple plastic shed base to a concrete slab, your shed is going to last longer if it is not left sitting flat on the ground.
In case you’re wondering if Tuff Sheds are good and if I’d get one again knowing what I know now… My answer is YES!
We design and manufacture the Mini Barn because certain areas around Austin just don’t have the room or need anything larger. Lower in cost than most other outdoor buildings, mini barns are among the most popular options for those who are looking to get the best bang for their buck.
